I grew up in Cornwall, so I was well used to seeing the old pumping stations that signal where a tin mine was. I no longer live there, but they often crop up in my prints. They are a useful compositional device, to have a strong architectural element in a print.
This print is a little unusual compared to my my lino prints which are editioned, in other words, there are more than one of these. This by contrast is a unique print made with paper stencils. The stencils do not survive the first print, so only one print can ever be made.
This print has an image covering the entire paper, there is no margin.
